Lithology and Thickness
Brown sandstones, sometimes coarse with cross-bedded stratifications with intercalations of white kaolinitic shales (Fig. 2). The detrital Emi Bao Fm is progressively transgressive on the Paleozoic of the Djado Basin.

Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Underlying unit is the Séguédine Fm., however, southeast of the town of Yat, rests directly on the Paleozoic.

Baumhauer et al. (2009) describe fulgurites in the Séguédine Fm and Emi Bao Fm at 20°13'15"N, 12°58'58"E, 588 m above sea level.
